Endodontics

The term endodontics refers to the branch of dentistry that deals with endodontal therapy, the space inside the dental element which contains the dental pulp consisting of cellular component, vessels and nerves.
Endodontic therapy is used when a carious or traumatic dental lesion has caused an irreversible alteration of the pulp tissue, leading to its necrosis. It is also possible to apply this method if the dental element has to be involved in prosthetic rehabilitations, due to the important reduction of the dental tissue itself, which could determine irreversible pulp alteration (pulp necrosis due to iatrogenic causes).
